...With both Pesto and Burgers! Once I eat something really good, I keep it in a rotation of meals...If I could eat the same type of meal everyday it would be Taco Salad and Burgers...As long as it tastes good, why not?

The recipe was adapted from Paleo Table. I have to hand it to her, she has extremely creative recipes. I like this recipe because the sausage I used had a hint of red wine and spice. This mixed well with the tastes of sun dried tomatoes, roasted bell peppers and pesto. It was like an explosion of flavor in your mouth. Also included is a fun recipe for sweet potato "fries."

Spicy Pesto Burger

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • ½ lb turkey TJ Spicy Chicken Sausage
  • ¼ cup sun-dried tomatoes, rehydrated and drained
  • ½ roasted red bell pepper
  • 1 shallot
  • ¼ cup pesto
  • celtic salt

In medium bowl combine ground turkey, chicken sausage (casing removed), and salt. Mix well until combined. Add pesto and mix again.

In a food processor, pulse shallot, roasted red bell pepper, and sun dried tomatoes. Mix half of  the mix with turkey until well combined. Reserve the rest for a topping/condiment

Form into about 6 patties.

Cook on a George Foreman Indoor Grill for 6-7 minutes until thoroughly cooked, or on outdoor grill.

Serve with your favorite green salad.

Sweet Potato Curls

  • 1-2 large sweet potatoes
  • celtic salt
  • oil for drizzling

Spiralize sweet potatoes with Spiralizer.

Spread out on a baking sheet. Make sure they are spread out otherwise they will sweat and be soggy. Spray or Drizzle with oil.

Broil on high for about 15 minutes, or until done to your liking. Sprinkle with salt. Alternatively you can bake at 450 for about 30 minutes.
